MasterPi does not normally join your home Wi-Fi immediately after power-on. Its factory default is AP direct mode, so it creates its own hotspot.

  1. Power on the battery box and the expansion board, then wait about 30 seconds for startup. After successful startup, the communication indicator LED2 should flash once every second in direct mode, and a hotspot beginning with HW should appear.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi on your phone and connect to the HW... hotspot. The hotspot password is hiwonder. In WonderPi, open 初级套件 > MasterPi, tap +, choose 直连模式, and tap 去连接设备热点. If the app shows a network-unavailable prompt, choose 保持连接. On iOS, wait until the Wi-Fi icon appears before returning to the app.
  3. If you want MasterPi to join your router’s Wi-Fi, connect your phone to that Wi-Fi first, choose 局域网模式 in the app, enter the Wi-Fi password, and then connect to the HW... hotspot with password hiwonder as prompted. After returning to the app, wait until the robot icon appears. In LAN mode, LED2 should remain on. Long-press the robot icon to view the assigned IP address, then use the remote desktop tool with that IP address.
  4. If MasterPi was previously configured for LAN mode and you want to return to direct mode, long-press KEY1 on the expansion board until the blue light flashes.
  5. If no HW... hotspot appears, check that both 18650 batteries are charged and installed with the correct polarity, and that both power switches are set to ON. Please then provide whether your unit is the Raspberry Pi 4B or Raspberry Pi 5 version, whether the HW... hotspot appears, and whether LED2 is off, steady, or flashing.
