Issue Description

  1. What did you expect to happen?
I expected the car to boot normally, and the car does not connect to the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connection so that I could connect my phone and control the robot.
  2. What actually happened?
When I turn the car on, the lights on the boards turn on and I hear beeping, but otherwise nothing happens. Are there lights on the top PCB? The top PCB fans only spin on startup and never after that, and I cannot connect the car to my phone. The car does not appear to complete the normal startup process.
  3. Error message or logs:
No error message is displayed because I cannot connect to the car. I only hear beeping after powering it on.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Connect the battery/power and turn on the car.
  2. The lights on the PCBs turn on and the car begins beeping.
  3. Wait for the car to finish booting.
  4. The top PCB fans only spin on startup and I cannot connect to the car with my phone.

Evidence

  1. Photos or short video:
I can provide a video showing the startup sequence, lights, and beeping.
  2. Wiring photo:
I can provide a clear photo of the wiring, especially the 4 wires connected to the top PCB.
  3. Screenshot:
I can provide screenshots showing that the phone cannot find/connect to the car.

What You Have Tried

  1. Power-cycled the robot multiple times.
  2. Tried connecting to the car with my phone again.
  3. Checked the visible wiring and connections.
  4. Confirmed that the PCB lights turn on when powered.
  5. I have not yet performed a hard reset or firmware recovery.
  6. I would like to know whether the 4 wires connected to the top PCB could be connected incorrectly.
  7. I would also like to know whether there is a hard-reset/recovery procedure for this board.
  8. Since the top PCB fans do not spin and the robot does not appear to boot normally, could this indicate a faulty PCB, insufficient power, or another hardware issue?

Additional question:
There is also a blinking green light in the front what could that mean? Could someone please help me determine whether this is most likely a wiring problem, power problem, failed boot/firmware issue, or defective hardware? This is brand new. In particular, I would like to know what the normal startup behavior of the top PCB fans and beeping should be, and whether there is a safe hard-reset procedure I can try before replacing any hardware.

Your symptoms do not by themselves confirm a failed PCB. For the ROSOrin Raspberry Pi 5 version, the documented startup sequence is: the expansion-board blue LED1 flashes while the network service starts, and one short beep indicates that startup has completed. An HW-prefixed Wi-Fi hotspot should then appear. Repeated beep-beep-beep sounds instead indicate low battery voltage, around or below 10 V.

  1. Fully charge the battery with the supplied charger while the robot is switched off. The charger LED is red while charging and green when complete. Do not operate the robot while charging.
  2. Start the robot and identify whether you hear one short beep after waiting, or repeated warning beeps. Also record whether blue LED1 is flashing or continuously lit.
  3. Use the documented Wi-Fi connection, not Bluetooth. On Android, enable Wi-Fi and GPS, grant the WonderAi app all permissions, select Professional Kit > ROSOrin Mecanum > + > Direct Connection, and connect to the HW hotspot with password hiwonder. If Android reports that the network has no Internet access, select Keep connection.
  4. If no HW hotspot appears and LED1 is continuously blue, press and hold KEY1 for 5-10 seconds. If LED1 starts flashing, search for the hotspot again.
  5. If KEY1 does not change LED1, switch off and disconnect power before reseating the SD card. The documented recovery path after that is to reflash the correct official ROSOrin image if necessary; there is no separate hard-reset sequence documented. Reflashing formats the SD card, so do not use an arbitrary image.
  6. Do not swap the four top-board wires while powered. Their correctness cannot be determined without clear connector labels and the Raspberry Pi 5 wiring view.

The brief fan movement at power-on and the unidentified blinking green light are not documented as fault indicators, so they are not sufficient to diagnose defective hardware. If the checks above do not restore the hotspot, please post a continuous startup video showing the beep pattern and LEDs, plus clear powered-off photos of both ends of the four wires and the labels beside the blinking green LED. Also confirm whether the lidar lights and rotates continuously.
